Who and where are the Ninigret Artists Guild? They’re a diverse group of artists that gets together every Tuesday to paint, under the tutelage of Laurie Gavitt. The class paints in the heart of Ninigret Park in Charlestown, RI. The park is surrounded in a beautiful setting next to the Kettle Pond National Wildlife Refuge. The painting group is open to all who have a desire to get together and paint, along with instruction when needed. The art guild is currently displaying their art at the MYSTIC/NOANK LIBRARY from June 15 to the end of July 2011. The exhibit features watercolors, oils, acrylics, and pen & ink. Many of the painted scenes are local. The opening for this show will be Monday, July 18, 5:30, 2011, serving refreshments, and an opportunity to meet the artists.
