       Who and where are the Ninigret Artists Guild?   They’re a diverse group of artists that gets together every Tuesday to paint, under the tutelage of Laurie Gavitt. The class paints in the heart of Ninigret Park in Charlestown, RI. The park is surrounded in a beautiful setting next to the Kettle Pond National Wildlife Refuge. “Welcome Summer” by the Ninigret Art Guild   On Wednesday, June 6th, from 5-8 pm, the Ninigret Art Guild is hosting an opening for its “Welcome Summer Art Exhibit” in the Hoxie Gallery of the Westerly Public Library, located at 44 Broad Street in Westerly, RI.

This Opening Reception will be held during the monthly Westerly/Pawcatuck Art Stroll, when shops, galleries, and restaurants are open late in downtown Westerly and Pawcatuck. Refreshments will be served. The reception and show are free and open to the public.

The exhibit is open daily in June during regular library hours, and contains paintings in a variety of mediums and subjects. A portion of the proceeds from the art sale will support the Friends of the Westerly Library.

Laurie Gavitt is the teacher/mentor for the Ninigret Art Guild.

Laurie will be exhibiting at the Bill Krul Art Gallery for the month of June 2012.
